A Christmas Long Ago....

I remember a Christmas years ago, when things were pretty tight at the Walker home. I was telling Shosted the story yesterday and I started to cry. Pretty embarrassing!
As I was telling the story....I realized how 'poor' we were. I wanted Christmas dresses for the girls and it wasn't looking like it was going to happen. So.....I went to DI and bought to old corduroy skirts....pick all the seams out of them and made these two little jumpers for the girls.
I got them all dressed up and took them to K-Mart for pictures....stood in line for over an hour.....when it was our turn, Andra started crying. The photographer had NO patience at all. He said, "Mam.....you will have to step aside.....I have other customers waiting". I said, "REALLY, because I have been one of those customers for over an hour now". I took the girls and scolded Andi all the way home. I still feel bad....it wasn't her fault. That week I took them to a nicer studio and this picture has been my pride and joy.
It's amazing how I remember this Christmas.....but the 'ones of plenty' are pretty vague in my mind.
I love you all and hope you each have a very Merry Christmas!!!
